Getting Lots Of Traffic To Your Affiliate Site

I think it's a safe bet to say that anyone who owns a website wants to have a steady flow of good quality traffic coming to their site, reading the content and going on to buy a product or become a subscriber to a monthly publication or similar. There are countless sites of all different niches promoting stuff all with the same goal in mind - getting more traffic to turn into sales. But let's focus on the traffic part for now

If you're new to the affiliate marketing industry or even just looking at it to find out how it works you may find yourself asking what affiliate traffic is, this article is going to cover a bit about affiliate traffic and how you can get more of it to your site. In short affiliate traffic is visitors directed to a website where a merchant sells the product but arrives via a referring website.

Let me give you an example:

A neighbor in my street who I see from time to time is passionate about photography and whenever I see him the conversation soon turns toward cameras and photography.

I suggested to him one day, Dave, why don't you do something that can turn your knowledge into an income, have you ever thought about having your own website all about photography? You are always talking about it and never seem to run out of things to say when it comes to the subject.

He pondered for a moment then took off. There was definitely a change that took place in Dave after that chat. Anyway, a few days passed before I saw him again and he had a noticeable change in his step and a glint in his eye that I'd not seen before. He told me how he was in the process of getting a site set up all geared towards photography but was asking questions about how to get people to his site and start generating an income.

Have you thought about becoming an affiliate and recommending someone else's product?

No, he replied.

Have a look on Amazon, there are countless camera and photography products available through their outlets, some of which would be suited to what you are doing, why not give that a try. And off he went again.

Another week passed before I saw Dave again and he told me how he'd found several products he was promoting on his site as an affiliate.

This is how affiliate traffic is created.

And this is the way anyone would get started with getting affiliate traffic to their site. Choose a niche, in Dave's case photography, but preferably something you have a passion for and knowledge of, and from there start promoting that niche.
